Mental Addition Practice
Quick, confident adding is the foundation of all mental maths. Practise from simple number bonds up to three-digit sums, with a new question the moment you answer.
7 + 8 = 1548 + 37 = 85640 + 95 = 735
Tricks that make it faster
- Round one number and adjust: 48 + 37 is 50 + 37 = 87, then take away 2 to get 85.
- Add the tens first, then the ones: 46 + 32 is 70 + 8.
- Look for pairs that make 10 or 100, such as 7 + 3 or 64 + 36.
How it works
You get 60 seconds of addition questions. Type the answer and the next one appears instantly, with no button to press. Four difficulty levels take you from first steps to genuinely hard, and your best score is saved on your device so you can watch it climb.
You can change the level, the time limit and the mix of question types on the home page.
