Questions and answers

What is Speedy Sums?
Speedy Sums is a free mental maths game. You answer as many sums as you can before the clock runs out, then try to beat your best score. It covers addition, subtraction, times tables, division, percentages, fractions, missing numbers and negative numbers.
Is it free?
Yes. Every game is free and there are no adverts. You can play without creating an account.
Who is it for?
Anyone who wants to get quicker at mental arithmetic: children learning number bonds and times tables, students revising for exams and adults keeping their minds sharp. Four difficulty levels run from single-digit sums to three-digit ones.
Do I need an account?
Not to play. Free practice saves your best scores and streak on your own device. A free account, using Google sign-in, is only needed for the daily challenge and the ranked leaderboards.
What is the daily challenge?
Each day everyone gets the same 60 seconds of sums and one attempt at them. Your score goes on that day's leaderboard, and playing on consecutive days builds a streak.
Does it work on phones and tablets?
Yes. On touch screens you get a large number pad, and on a computer you simply type the answers. It works in any modern browser with nothing to install.
